Does your company want to explore new markets by the hand of skilled and motivated Master’s students from DTU and CBS, developing a prototype and a business plan for a potential spin-out company? HardTech Entrepreneurship is part of the matchmaking service at High Tech Summit.
HardTech Entrepreneurship is DTU Skylab’s flagship course-incubator where every semester, over 120 DTU Master’s students and 20 CBS Master’s students enroll to work hand in hand with companies to turn their technologies into a whole new business proposition. As part of the High Tech Summit’s matchmaking service, HardTech Entrepreneurship offers a 10% discount of one corporate case to visiting as well as exhibiting companies at High Tech Summit 2018.
In HardTech Entrepreneurship, we match technologies, inventions, patents, technological needs or challenges from mother companies, with teams of 5 DTU Master’s students + 1 CBS Master’s student + 1 Business Mentor + Prototyping facilities and budget to develop a prototype, a business plan, and to validate new potential markets by reaching customers and relevant stakeholders. The goal is to create the backbone of a potential new spin-out venture from your company, which can become a high-tech investment, a new customer, supplier or partner to your company.
Your company owns all the rights of the work developed by the students during the course, and the aim is that after it, a new spin-out company can be created from your company by the students.
We have great success in doing so! The course has run for 7 years, and around 20% of the projects set up in the course, end up as registered companies. We also average 5 finalists of the Venture Cup Start-Up competition every year (this year we had 7 teams participating).
Besides the possibility of creating new companies, it is common that the mother company uses the connection with the students to recruit new talents, as well as to enrich its CSR portfolio by innovating with university to create new start-ups in Denmark.
HardTech Entrepreneurship is now looking for potential cases for the Fall semester (starting in September). We have only 6 spots left for Corporate cases! If your company is interested, send us an e-mail to [email protected] before 6th of August.
During High Tech Summit 2018, HardTech Entrepreneurship will be running a 2-hour talk+workshop. Company representatives will have the opportunity to engage with some of our student techpreneurs to conceptualize new potential markets for a given technology/challenge from your company, based on methodologies used in the course, as well as to hear some success stories from previous semesters. Don’t miss it! More info will be available on High Tech Summit’s webpage, soon.
